SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Legalist (www.legalist.com), a technology-enabled litigation finance firm, has announced the addition of Ryan Leach, a former Investor Relations Executive at Revere Capital as Head of Investor Relations. With over 10 years of experience creating, developing and managing IR initiatives for alternative investment firms, Mr. Leach will join Eva Shang, Legalist CEO, in fostering strong relations with Legalist’s existing and prospective investors.
Started in 2016 by two Harvard drop-outs, Legalist invests in commercial litigation by using algorithms that scrape state and federal court records to source and help underwrite investments. Unlike traditional litigation funders, Legalist exclusively focuses on mid-market cases that require less than $1 million in funding. Legalist announced the close of $100M Fund II in July 2019 and the milestone of 100+ invested cases in June 2020.
“We are excited to welcome Ryan as our Head of Investor Relations at a time when Legalist is growing its capital base and accelerating fund deployment,” said Legalist CEO and co-founder Eva Shang. “Ryan’s experience in investor relations will be instrumental as Legalist continues to scale our investments in legal assets.”
With roots in Texas, Mr. Leach received BBA at Baylor University School of Business and MBA at Southern Methodist University School of Business. He has since led marketing and capital raising efforts at various hedge funds and alternative asset firms.
